Bad Weather Tips!

With a "Winter Storm Warning" spreading across most of Tennessee I thought it would be good to give some ideas for how to prepare for the winter storm.  Here is a list of hardware goods that you want to make sure you have on hand:
  • Ice Melter of Salt (Keep in mind that Rock Salt can damage concrete and vegatation, it will also not work below freezing)
  • Portable Heaters (Non electric in case of a power outage)
  • A snow shovel (may not use it that much but you will be thankful you have one)
  • Batteries and flash lights in case of a power outage
  • Window scraper and windshield deicer
  • Sand bags or some type of weight to put in your truck or car.
  • Heat tape and pipe insulation
  • Faucet cover for exterior water faucets.
Always think in advance, get your supplies prior to the storm coming.  Here at both our locations we always try to keep supplies in stock and ready for your winter needs.  Here are some suggestions to do if we do loose power
  • Leave faucets dripping to keep pipes from freezing.
  • Shut doors in your house to keep heat from escaping
  • Keep flashlights, matches, and candles somewhere you will find them
  • Get out portable radios and make sure cell phones are charged
